In Times Like This, No One Is To Be Blamed

By Nze, Leonard A. Ogu

The current security crises in Imo state and other parts of Nigeria has taken a dangerous dimension. This is the time we all must join hands to salvage our dear state and country.

It has become absolutely necessary for all to support our governor His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodinma and the security agencies to salvage our dear state.

The blame game must stop now because it will not proffer any workable and practical solution. The enemies of our people from outside the state may use the prevailing circumstance to push their evil agenda of destabilization.

For long, Imo state has been the most peaceful state in Nigeria. Owerri, the state capital is home of hospitality, where people from all parts of Nigeria come to relax and enjoy themselves with its attendant cash inflow, which boosts the economy of the state.

I will like to plead to all citizens to embrace peace. Also, the leaders at both federal and state should bend backwards and listen to the cry and agitations of individuals and groups.

Negotiations, dialogue and peaceful disposition should not be ruled out. This is not time for grandstanding.

May the peace of the Lord be upon Imo state and Nigeria.
