Imo Flood Control: Imo Govt runs first test on Ballon tunnel

Governor Hope Uzodinma has achieved a Positive and Impactful Milestones with today’s Test Run of the balloon Technology Underground Tunnel Phase 1 measuring 2.45km.

The ambitious underground Tunnel awarded to Leo9 Asphalt and Construction Nig Ltd by the Governor of imo State through the ministry of works last year (2020) is to ease and control flood menace within Owerri municipal, especially the Mcc Uratta/ Transegbu/ Prefab/ Aladinma/ Ikenegbu/Wetheral/ Chukwuma Nwaoha / Relief Market/ Egbu/ Ihechiowa streets and road axis upon completion. It is expected that all engineering and Construction companies working within these axis will connect and channel their flood water to the tunnel through various catch pits which thereafter emptied into the Underground Tunnel and flow to Otamiri River via the discharge point; an architectural and engineering masterpiece.

The underground tunnel which was test run today is expected to be commissioned in no distance time upon completion of connecting points.

While congratulating Imo people for this impactful project, IfeanyiCy Blog and MaaziTV give kudos to the 3R government for the initiating the ambitious project and seeing to it’s execution within a short period of one year.
