KOM University Was Acquired in the name of Imo Govt, not Rochas Foundation – Onuegbu replies Onwuemeodo

The former commissioner for lands in Imo State, Barr. Enyinnaya Onuegbu KSC, has replied Sam Onwuemeodo, the Chief Press Secretary to former governor of Imo State, Senator Rochas Okorocha, over his claims that the KOM University, previously named Eastern Palm University, was a property of the Rochas Foundation.

Reacting, Onuegbu presented documents, proving that the land in which the university is situated, was acquired in the name of the Imo State Government, and not through the Rochas Foundation, as claimed by Onwuemeodo.

“Attention Chief Sam Onwuemeodo above is an interim response to your claim that the KOM University at Ogboko belongs to Rochas foundation. The attached certified documents of acquisition of the land by IMSG from my hitherto office as Commissioner for Lands will enlighten you more in your research,” Onuegbu stated.

The Senator Hope Uzodinma administration, in response to the call from Imo people, and in fulfilment of its obligations to the people, had reacquired the state owned institution, which was converted by the former governor into his private property.

Uzodinma had assured Imo people of total recovery of every looted state property, converted for private use by members and aides of previous administrations in the state.

Recall that Onuegbu while as commissioner for lands, had sealed a property illegally converted by the wife of the former governor, at the orders of Senator Hope Uzodinma.
