Family of German based Nigerian, Oguchi Unachukwu, shot, killed at Airforce Checkpoint, breaks silence

Complains to Imo Govt, Petitions imo CP, Chief of Air Staff

Says relative was killed before his wife, son, and four months old daughter.

Family of a Germany-based Nigerian, Oguchi Unachukwu, who was allegedly shot. and killed at the Airforce Checkpoint around Imo Airport on Monday 31st of May 2011,has finally opened up, accusing the 211 Regiment, Nigerian Air Force, in Owerri, Imo State,of allegedly killing their relative for no reason.

In a press conference on wenesday, the family lawyer, I.F. Akponye, Esq who represented the family said, the family has sent a compliant letter to the Imo State government through the Chief of staff, Barr. Nnamdi Anyaehie, the Imo State Commossioneer of Police, and the Nigerian Chief of Air Staff.

On getting to the Airport, they were stopped at the Airforce check point and later asked them to move before he was shot at, twice and on his forehead at close range.”

Realizing he was never a member of IPOB or any other group in Hamburg or in Nigeria and that they have killed An innocent man. After the saw that the wife and the kids were wailing prosusely and his 2 years son calling on his unconscious father to wake up, they decided to take him to the Airforce hospital along Aba road before dumping him at Federal medical Centre Owerri.

The petion asked the security agencies to investigate the killing of their relative and give the deceased family justice
